Do You Have a Plan? Financial Foundations is an educational book by Tammy Johnson and Janice Blaine. The book is for children and shows them how they can achieve their goals with the aid of a financial plan, and how to budget wisely. Children are encouraged to create their budgets with a methodical approach using the aid of six jars, each labelled Financial Freedom, Long Term Savings, Education, Gifts, Charity and Play. The meaning of these terms and reasons why it is important to donate to charity, while saving for goals, are given. Equal portions of a child’s allowance should go into these jars. More jars can be added or labels substituted according to the children’s needs. There are also two sections called Tammy’s Tips and Questions that will assist in making the right decisions concerning investments.
