Author Biography

TR grew up in west central Wisconsin. Watching the aircraft from nearby Ft. McCoy fly overhead got him interested in both the military and aviation. After graduating from the University of Minnesota he reported to MCRD San Diego CA to start his military career in the Marines. During twenty years of active duty he served as an aircraft Ground Support Equipment technician, a Communications Officer, and a CH-53E Helicopter Pilot, primarily serving on the west coast with numerous overseas deployments.

Upon retiring from the military he worked various jobs before landing his current role as an Aviation Ground School Instructor for a major logistics company in Louisville, KY.

TR's start in writing began when, in a discussion with his wife about 'bucket list' items, he mentioned he'd always wanted to write a book someday. At his wife’s strong suggestion to "go for it!" he did. The subsequent journey has been one of enlightenment, hard work, and the realization of a desire and passion for writing.

The characters for Dogs of Warr were initially developed in 1987; the first incarnations being comic book characters drawn in a sketchbook. The first novel, in an ongoing series, was a way to bring those characters to life, giving them depth and dimension.

While only a 'part time' author, it's become a 'full-time' passion for TR and the ideas keep flowing, eventually winding up on ‘paper’. He sincerely hopes others will hop on to enjoy the ride he's taking his characters on!!

Dogs of Warr IV: Beware the Silver Lining by TR Gabriel thrusts readers into a harrowing mission where a secret military team must stop a madman wielding nanotechnology to commit global genocide. The Dogs of Warr face an invisible enemy whose dangerous ideology threatens humanity's survival. This military novel delves deep into the ethical complexities of modern warfare while maintaining a relentless pace that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. Gabriel's meticulous attention to technical detail and military protocol adds layers of authenticity to this thought-provoking exploration of humanity's struggle against technological threats.

Author TR Gabriel has a real knack for crafting scenes that feel real and immediate, and the combat sequences draw you in with their precision and intensity. I was impressed by the character portrayal and up close narration, showing a great range of speech and thought presentation so that we get to know each individual; their emotional struggles certainly resonate long after you've finished reading. When the characters face difficult choices, you feel the weight of their decisions like a lump in your gut. I found myself completely invested in the team's mission, thanks to Gabriel's ability to balance the technical details of a high-stakes military plot with genuine human connections. His exploration of morality in warfare also adds new layers and emotional ties to what could have been just another action story. The way the author maintains tension throughout the narrative is remarkable, delivering deeper considerations on ethics and war, but never losing the action-packed pace. Overall, I enthusiastically recommend Dogs of Warr IV: Beware the Silver Lining to readers who appreciate military fiction that challenges them to think while keeping them entertained.
