What I loved about this second entry in the series is that the excitement never wanes. This story was utterly engaging, especially from an emotional aspect. Chris Neo delivers scenes that left me focused and racing through the pages. The experiences at sea were, in turn, heartbreaking and heartwarming, especially when Aris had to feed Lilly with his own blood, so she could have some energy. From being saved by dolphins to the intense arm-wrestling contest at the village festival, the novel presents moments that tugged at my heart until the final, compelling denouement. The setting in Between Eros is wonderfully executed, and what stood out were the powerful images of the sea and its challenges, as well as the customs of the village in Greece. Absolutely delightful.

The adventure is plentiful in this novel, from the painful experience of starvation at sea, where Aris has to open his veins to feed Lilly, one of the crew, almost at the brink of death, to miraculous help from the dolphins. The prose is fluid, littered with captivating descriptions and punctuated by dazzling dialogues. Romance, adventure, and drama examine love from unusual perspectives.

I loved the intensity of the story and could not guess what would happen next. The interactions between the crew members give both drama and some humor, while the mystery surrounding the Love Secret continues to drive the narrative forward. Angelica was a breath of fresh air. Neo explores themes about trust, loyalty, sacrifice, and the difference between obsession and authentic love. The dialogues are fun, the pace is fast, and the thrill of finding what happens next made me read on until the end. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the next and final novel in the series.
