Joy awoke after surgery devoid of the talent which she once thought defined her. But instead of lamenting what was lost, even if the doctors said it would be temporary, she moves on. Using designs she has already stockpiled, she turns her hand to something else, and is rewarded with a successful book and a chance to reunite with Kyle, an old friend. But things seldom travel the path straight and narrow. As their relationship builds she discovers an unforgivable truth, forcing her to distance herself and shut him out of her life for the good of all. Her life has altered in many ways since she had the operation, and she wants now more than ever to find her own happily ever after.

Easily Entreated by Dr. Joyce D Hightower is a dialogue-driven Christian drama focusing on the events of Joy's life. With Joy embracing change, strengthening old relationships, forging new ones, and even returning to her roots, there's never a dull moment in her life. You'll learn much about the characters and their histories through carefully scripted conversation which, in places, can seem a little awkward, much like real life itself. Joy is an interesting character who grasps life with both hands and faces the challenges before her without wavering. By doing so, she finds herself rewarded and not always in a way you, as a reader, would anticipate. This could just as easily be a biography rather than a work of fiction, and it was enjoyable to share Joy's journey and watch her grow. All in all, I enjoyed this book.
