Enemy Divine, the first book in the Deadly Passions series by VK Walker, is a fierce and wildly seductive fantasy romance that doesn’t hold back on action, attitude, or emotional firepower. Packed with gods, goblins, fae, and fated enemies, this genre-blending saga is as sizzling as it is chaotic in all the best ways. From blood-stained battlefields to bawdy, godly escapades, Walker delivers a cast of characters who are messy, magnetic, and gloriously flawed. Enemy Divine is a bold, sexy, and imaginative ride through a world where the divine is flawed, the damned are desirable, and desire might just change the fate of reality itself.
Author VK Walker explodes onto the romance scene with this vivid series and takes you on a passionate ride that I didn’t want to end. Whether it's the reluctant Goblin warrior Sørnrøs and her irritatingly attractive fae prince Thraceon, or the brooding god Axir and the vampyre he never saw coming, every pairing crackles with tension and complexity, and there’s natural sizzle in the dialogue without anything ever feeling forced or generic. Each character has a distinct voice and attitude formed by their influences in this richly detailed fantasy world, and the author writes with a firm confidence that means you always feel in safe hands, no matter where the story’s taking you. Uniquely placed to deliver not only romance but war stories, soul-bonded collisions, and existential longing, this is all wrapped in razor-sharp banter and explosive chemistry that burns in chapter after chapter. Overall, Enemy Divine is a highly recommended read for fans of fantasy romance, and I loved every moment.
