Falling For My Mate's Alpha is a book in the Fire and Ice Paranormal series written by Bodie Summers. When Kitty (Joanne) is called on stage to dance, she does her utmost to be the very best, as long as nothing sexual is involved. Mourning her family who'd died in a car wreck, Joanne is still trying to numb the pain inside as she dances for the audience. This ends when Liam, a patron, follows her home, forcibly kidnaps her, and claims to be her mate. Slowly Joanne learns about the Black River Pack of which Liam is a member. The violence he submits her to causes Joanne to hate what it is to be a wolf's mate until she feels the surprise emotional pull from Liam's Alpha, Isaac Blackwood. While studying the texts that Isaac gives her, Joanne learns how to disengage from Liam, freeing her up to bond with Isaac. During this time, Joanne discovers that not only were her father and brother rogue wolves, but that Liam had caused the crash that claimed their lives. Joanne vows that she will remain at Isaac's side, but is forced to leave after a threat against those that she loves gives her no alternative. What ensues is truly soul-crushing.
Falling For My Mate's Alpha is truly one of the most emotional and inspired paranormal tales I have ever read. The main characters were very realistically written, and the loathing I felt each time I read Liam's name was palpable. It surprised me in a joyous way that some of the wolves had a second chance in their lives and love. Alpha Isaac was a truly terrifying character who seemed immediately soothed by Joanne's sudden presence in the pack. Each new character introduced left me wondering if they were good or evil, and I shed tears when two souls meant to be together were so viciously torn apart. I am still shaking in anticipation of what Bodie Summers brings to the table next and feel that fans of werewolves, the paranormal, and tales of true love (over the age of 15) will flood the libraries and bookstores on each of Bodie Summers' new releases.
