Fate of the Fallen: The Baiulus Series Omnibus by Darren Lewis is the sequel to the Seren Trilogy. Ellie is in danger and she must go back to the past, back to where it all began and where the answers lie. Only Ellie can fight the darkness that writhes through the village, awakening bitter memories. Only Ellie can overcome it, but she stands to lose everything. The shadows want revenge and Ellie must pay for what she has done. After receiving a warning about the Institute, Ellie goes home but she doesn’t have many answers. Instead, she has more questions. Ellie is about to face down many threats and enemies, as well as a hidden magic device that was created by the dragons. Ellie must stand strong against the Institute; together with her friends, she must try to save the world again.

Fate of the Fallen: The Baiulus Series Omnibus by Darren Lewis is something very different. I didn’t read the first series so I thought I might struggle with this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was an easy read, with enough detail so that it serves as a standalone. I also liked the fact that it was the entire series in one book – it saves having to wait for the next instalment! I found Mr. Lewis’ writing to be deep but readable, highly descriptive and a combination of fairy tales and present day struggles. The story was good, well thought out and complex in places, but not so complex that it couldn't be grasped and the characters were very well developed as well. I must admit to having enjoyed it very much and I will read it again – once I have read the first series!
