Felix is Curious About His Body by Nicole Audet is an educational picture book for young readers. One day, Felix is getting ready for a trip to the human body museum to help him prepare for an exam. He is afraid that he won’t know all the answers to the questions on the test. But, luckily, Felix has some special friends to help him along the way. Felix arrives at the museum, and the learning begins. With each body part, Felix’s handy friends help him absorb as much information as his brain can. Will Felix ace the exam? And who exactly are Felix’s special friends? Find out in this thought-provoking book.
Nicole Audet's book teaches children about the human body, so if your child is of the age where they're starting to ask questions, this book will be the perfect way to ease them into it. The layout is well organized, and everything is explained simply to enable children to learn the information provided. I enjoyed the choice of using special instruments to educate the reader; this will attract their attention and keep it throughout. What I liked most was the interactive section at the end, as this will show parents how much their child has learned. The illustrations by Mylene Villeneuve are professional and full of vibrant colors, but most importantly, they are hilarious. Children will have a giggle or two reading Felix is Curious About His Body. I hope to read more books by this author in the future.
