Fever: A Ballroom Romance was certainly smoking hot. I felt that I was visualizing all the smoldering sexiness of a tango, combined with the grace and agility of a ballerina! Rory's dreams of becoming a professional dancer were crushed long ago. She's almost forgotten the sensual, exhilarating pull of the dance floor, until she sees Sasha, a Russian ballroom dancer who reignites her passion in more ways than one. Sasha too has his past pains, but through Rory, he's able to find someone who shares his feelings, his passion for dance.
Tonya Plank has a very visual style to her writing, which made for excellent descriptions and scenes that continued to pop with color and life. I was particularly impressed with the dance sequences, because never having been a dancer, I really don't know much about the terminology. While some descriptions and dance moves went right over my head, the scenes were set up in a way that you could still feel the rhythm, still feel the smoothness of skin on skin, and the breathless beat of the dance steps themselves. What a wonderful way to create a romance! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the romantic ride therein.
Fever is exactly what the title describes; a hot, sweaty, passionate read that might make you dizzy, and is most definitely hot, hot, HOT! Tonya Plank is a new author to me, but I will definitely be looking out for more from her in the future, which is good because it looks like there will be more Ballroom Romances to come!
