Good Girl Bad Girl by Ann Girdharry is a tale of psychological suspense. Kal Medi learnt a great deal from her late father. At the age of just 28 she knows how to read a person, how to read their behaviour. She acts like a fool at times because that is what she wants people to see – not her strengths, which she keeps well hidden until she needs them. Kal meets up with Sarah, both needing to find out why Kal’s mother has disappeared. On her journey to discover what has happened, Kal comes across a mystery, a mystery that has been woven through her family for 3 generations, a mystery that Kal’s grandmother tried to prevent by moving to England. The past doesn’t go away though; instead, it lies in wait. Kal finds out that her mother has made a mistake and now Kal must go up against a London crime syndicate to track down her mother. Can Kal find her mother before it is too late? Can she outrun the secrets of the past, or will they overwhelm her and change who she is forever?
Good Girl Bad Girl by Ann Girdharry is full of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, written in a way that makes it hard to put down. The plot has been crafted expertly, with a lot of twists and turns in it and plenty of action. The intrigue of the past is wound through the entire story and crashes into the ending. The characters are masterfully developed, allowing you insights into who they are and what makes them tick as the story flows down a smooth path to a natural conclusion. Ann Girdharry really is a seriously good writer, a writer who knows how to make her audience sit up and take note. I will certainly be reading more of her books in the future.
