Meet Gus. He is a chimpanzee. Sometimes Gus can get stressed and be a little grumpy. That is why he is called Grumpy Gus. Grumpy Gus's friend, Louie Lou, has invited Gus to take a walk with him. It is a perfect day for a walk. Only, Grumpy Gus has lost his shoes! He has looked everywhere. How can Gus go for a walk without his shoes? Grumpy Gus Loses His Shoes (Books For Kids Book 2) by Dale Lewis is a cute story about a couple of chimpanzees that learn how to look for something calmly and patiently. As Louie Lou and Grumpy Gus start searching for his shoes, Gus must learn a valuable lesson. Can Gus remember where he last had his shoes? Will Grumpy Gus and Louie Lou be able to find Gus's shoes? Or will Gus become so grumpy that he can't find them?
Grumpy Gus Loses His Shoes by Dale Lewis is the charming second book in the Books For Kids series. The colorful illustrations are attractive and meant to engage the younger reader. The story teaches children a very important lesson about patience. When Gus first realizes that he has lost his shoes, he gets upset. When his friend Louie Lou comes over and offers to help him, Gus learns that searching happily for something will help him find what he is looking for more easily and faster. A fun book with delightful characters, I would recommend this to families with toddlers and young children.
