On Earth, Gwen Evir, the Elvish princess, has finally found an Analog called Carter Hurley, a descendant of King Arthur. Her next destination is The Library, a fortress of forbidden knowledge where the legendary Excalibur is believed to be. However, Morrigan, the dark goddess, has sent her deadly henchman, Staffa Ugg, to intercept them. On Grenholm, the Goblin homeworld, Morrigan is hastily putting her latest scheme into action to conquer Earth. She is also grooming Riana Hurley, her daughter, whom she abducted from Earth, to be her successor. Gwen and Carter must move fast to find the sword before it is too late, but they cannot beat Morrigan alone. With kin to Gwen and Carter going on tough campaigns to rally support on Earth and other worlds to help fight the dark goddess, and the duo being forced into uncertain alliances as they advance in their mission, do they stand a chance against the powerful Morrigan? Find out in Gwen’s Sacrifice: Excalibur’s Legacy by A. B. Franklin.

Once again, A. B. Franklin weaves a gripping epic space opera tale featuring the Elvish warrior princess Gwen and a host of other exciting characters in Gwen’s Sacrifice. This time around, the stakes are higher for Gwen. In the company of Carter, she must race against time to find Excalibur or risk an unfortunate fate crafted by Morrigan. But in her path lie secrets, betrayal, loss, a seemingly invincible and brutal enforcer, and mortal combat. Franklin unravels this intriguing tale through a multi-perspective timeline, giving the plot a smooth and effortless flow. Franklin’s storytelling made reading the story feel like playing an enthralling game. The more pages I turned, the more layers were added, yet this only sharpened the clarity of the larger picture. I enjoyed Franklin’s signature dark, cinematic world-building and the lively dialogue, filled with upbeat, tense conversations and pop culture references. I loved this incredible second installment in the series.
