Happy Mother's Day, Dad! by Terri Kelley is a tribute to fathers all over the world who have the responsibility of bringing up a child alone. This book is a celebration of all single parents who bring up their children, overcoming all the hardships. The book is from the view point of a little girl who appreciates everything her father does for her.

The little girl speaks about what mothers do for their children and she appreciates what her father does for her. She feels that, even though it is Mother's Day, her father's efforts in making her special should be noted. The rhyming style of the story makes it very appealing for children. The rhyme scheme and the colorful illustrations make it a sure winner. The emotions of the little girl have been captured and illustrated well. The colors are bright and lively. This story book will be good for read-aloud and it is a good bedtime tale, too.

Children need story books like this that are presented aesthetically and with a lot of color. It not only attracts them to the book and encourages them to read, but also makes their thinking process creative. It helps in improving their observations of their surroundings and gives them ideas to visualize and put down on paper. This is a book that should be shared with all the single dads for the love and support they give their children in bringing them up alone.
