Hawthorne High is a supernatural teen fiction tale written by Jordan Elizabeth. Dylan Hatfield is so tired of being a bully magnet. At 17 years of age, she managed to be blamed for almost every terrible thing that happened at Hawthorne High. If it were not for her best friend Ashley, she would have nobody at all to confide in, except for her two imaginary friends, Amelia and Mary. When these two ask Dylan to help them possess the bullies to make them see the error in their ways, it is not a hard decision. With Amelia and Mary at the helm, Amore and Cienna quickly become polite to all, as well as transform into best friends with Dylan. The truth behind Amelia's and Mary's existence reveals itself as a trail of destruction and fires leading Dylan to discover they are ghosts who had survived the horrors of an asylum where the school had been built. When Mary suddenly takes over Ashley's body and becomes hell-bent on revenge on all who had stolen her baby, Dylan must take drastic action to save a lot more than she could ever have bargained for.

First of all... wow. Jordan Elizabeth's brilliant style of writing and imagination has created a whole amazing new meaning for the word 'paranormal.' The bullying in Hawthorne High of the main character not only came from the students but also the faculty - something which I have seen through my own eyes during my schooling years. I very much enjoyed the romance that develops for Dylan, which I have a feeling is long overdue. Hawthorne High is run by a clique of 'mean girls' who devour Dylan as their main course every day for fun, and watching their comeuppance gave me hope that the characters would see how hideous their behavior truly was. Instead, I was greeted with a story far more sinister and in-depth. I would dearly love to read more from this author in the future, as her writing style easily grips the reader from start to finish. I recommend Hawthorne High to readers over the age of 15 who love a twisted tale that keeps them on the edge of their seats.
