Young Asher of Afvoling is the latest recruit to join the Silver Hands. On the island of Ganhalem, alongside The Butcher, Sibble Keeneye, Frostulf the Giant, and the legendary twins Tosti and Skuli, they embark on their most dangerous mission yet. They are to go to the peak of the Southern Mountains and seek out The Prophet, the leader of the lycans who have been terrorizing the island. All six warriors understand this is mostly a one-way mission, yet they must follow the laws of the land. Along the way, they encounter their fair share of lycans and find themselves in almost impossible-to-escape scenarios. What happens when they meet The Prophet, and who makes it out alive? Find out in Heirs of Ganhalem by David Alexander Oldfather, book one of the Tales of Aekar series.

David Alexander Oldfather is a master world-builder, and Irondale, the village of Jarggvol, and Hungering Peak in the Southern Mountains all come to life in this fantasy novella. Each of the six characters is appealing in their own way, and the ones who are sacrificed for the greater good will tug at the reader’s heartstrings. This is a fantastic series starter, and as a novella, the plot races along at breakneck speed, making for an exciting couple of hours for every reader. Heirs of Ganhalem ends the story at a pivotal moment, ensuring that the reader is keen to get hold of book two. Fantasy lovers who especially enjoy lycan (werewolf) storylines will absolutely love every second of this story.
