Her Snowman is a work of fiction in the romance, suspense, and interpersonal drama subgenres. It is best suited to the mature adult reading audience and was penned by author Marica A Oster. In this complex and enthralling personal drama, we find ourselves following the tumultuous life of our protagonist, writer Jolene. When her editor sends her to a remote cottage to finish her sixth novel, Jolene has an unexpected house guest when she gets snowed in with the mysterious Nick Snow. A passionate but brief affair occurs that will change the course of her life forever, bringing other new romances into the mix and a jealous editor who will stop at nothing to control her every move.
Author Marica A Oster throws absolutely everything into this concise and fast-paced novel to give it the maximum amount of drama possible. Fans of complex romances and multi-dimensional relationships will love Jolene and the network of friends, lovers, and antagonists around her. In terms of character development, Oster has a knack for bringing emotions to the fore through some very clever dialogue and physical descriptions, and the close personal narration which follows Jolene gives us a very raw picture of her state at the tensest times in the storyline. Blaine provided a very strong antagonistic force that really drove the plot in some exciting and dangerous directions, and I also loved the atmosphere created by the different settings that Jolene flees to. Overall, Her Snowman is an excellent romantic drama with plenty of suspense and I’d highly recommend it.
