When I first began reading How to Impact and Influence Others, I was expecting it to strictly be a book about succeeding in business. After all, the subtitle of the book is 9 Keys to Successful Leadership. This book does apply to how we conduct business and work with others on a daily basis, but this book has the ability to influence every aspect of our lives because we deal with people all day, every day in any number of circumstances and places. Each encounter with people that we have, whether we know them or not, we have the ability to influence their lives, even eternally.

In this book, James Merritt shows us and teaches us the nine keys to impacting people in a positive and uplifting way. In a very down-to-earth and practical way, James discusses these nine principles and uses real-life examples to demonstrate the principles in action. He then goes on to challenge the reader to apply these principles to his or her life every day. I like the way this book is written. The content is very easy to understand and it just simply makes sense. The chapters are broken up into short and readable sections that make this a quick and easy read. If readers will commit to applying the nine keys to their lives, they will see how their example is leaving a lasting and positive impression on the people they encounter.
