How to Love Yourself by Rachel Madorsky is an absolutely adorable children’s book. I loved each illustration, each word, each thought, and each piece of advice. I enjoyed the advice about being and doing. Our children and students are so lucky to be able to read it and learn from it. Everything about this work makes you want to start on a new path.

How to Love Yourself by Rachel Madorsky is an astounding book about self-love and love generally speaking. In fact, you cannot be a balanced and happy human being, capable of love toward others if you do not love yourself. To top it all, the tasks, which are game-like and fun, are perfect to help young and less young people (as parents and teachers are bound to benefit from this gem of a book) to grow into healthy, happy, and balanced grown-ups. We all work too much. We tend to forget ourselves and what is more important than teaching our little ones not to make the same mistake?

Thank you for the 11 self-love practices which perfectly complete the guide. They will help children master self-love. My favorite chapter is: Replacing Should with Could. Indeed, we tend to want to be perfect, to impose too much on ourselves and others. We all have so much to learn from Rachel and I will definitely apply some of her wisdom.

It all starts with you and your decision to embark on this journey of self-love. It may not be easy but with persistence and patience, you can learn to heal from past traumas and be kind to yourself.

How to Love Yourself: In Less Than a Week and Also for the Rest of Your Life by Rachel Madorsky is a concise and positive book that focused on the main aspects of loving yourself. Far from the usual self-help book which can get a bit wordy, the author kept everything succinct. I found this to be a good decision although I do believe some chapters could have benefitted from a bit more substance. For example, in chapter 8 the author touches on ‘practicing receiving’. I felt that more could be said on this considering the deeper psychological implications behind this concept. I feel that many times those who seek to take this type of journey have a hard enough time without having to read an overly long book which may end up demotivating the reader. In this regard I found the length of the book to be perfect. I enjoyed reading this book and feel that it has great potential for readers to start their journey of self-love.
