Donna Collins’s Hunted: The Sacrifice, Book 1 is a thriller set in a coastal town in Cornwall, England. It follows Eliza Hamilton, a nurse with a wealthy but controlling father, and Roman Holbrook, a mysterious man who saved her from a life-threatening incident. The story is full of heart-stopping scenes that will plunge any reader into an inexorable quest to find out if Roman is a hero or a villain. Headstrong and determined to get to the bottom of things, Eliza becomes an unwilling participant in a scheme hatched decades ago. Hunted is a brew of mystery, the supernatural, and suspense that will keep you riveted and engaged. There are surprising twists that will definitely keep you hooked and wanting more.
Donna Collins’s Hunted is a page-turner! I loved how strong and independent Eliza’s character is despite having a controlling father and a cop for a brother. She’s not the usual damsel in distress and I’m excited to know how she will progress in the next book. Roman Holbrook is a conundrum, making me wonder what he did to become what he was. This book laid the groundwork on what a complex and interesting character he is. I'm pretty Donna Collins has more bombs to drop about Roman and Eliza. The supernatural elements in this story were mesmerizing and terrifying in equal measure. Donna Collins put the characters through harrowing near-death experiences that took my breath away. I’m still reeling from the climactic scene and can’t wait to find out what will happen next. Book 1 of The Sacrifice trilogy certainly sets the bar for the next books and I can’t wait to read them.
