Inappropriate Speed Plus Distraction (Is An Accident Waiting To Happen) is a very serious work of non-fiction penned by author Ademola Ilori. The work deals with the tragedy involved in vehicle accidents and fatalities on the road, explaining the nature of how the vast majority, if not all, of these accidents are totally preventable if everyone follows the proper codes of the road. The book covers topics such as proper attention to wearing seatbelts, myth busting some campaigns that give false impressions of road safety, and an examination of the many different modern-day devices which can provide dangerous distractions when we’re trying to drive.
Author Ademola Ilori has written a cross-cultural account of road safety that takes readers from East to West and all around the world in his search for the commonalities that cause road accidents and fatalities. I thought that the chapters of the work were very well organized to build on different points gradually and not overwhelm the reader with too much at the start. Examples are well penned, and the inclusion of illustrative photographs adds to the clarity of the piece as a whole, giving visual references of wrecked cars and also elements like the field of vision, which is a very useful tool. Ilori’s narrative quality is firm but not off-putting, giving the book a quiet confidence that will help readers take in its messages. Overall, Inappropriate Speed Plus Distraction (Is An Accident Waiting To Happen) is an excellent and highly recommended guidebook for all drivers to consider.
