Invisible Restraints by B.L. Bailey is based on the author's true story. In this book the author speaks about losing her father and trying to replace that relationship she shared with her father by falling in love with different men. In this book we come across the different men who came into the author's life at different stages, and how they influenced her life as a whole. This particular story takes you through a multitude of emotions: love, hatred, disappointments, deceit, anger, grief, and then we finally see the author's life coming to a full circle.
The book takes you on an emotional ride with the author's personal experiences and turbulent relationships. Readers will sympathize with the author while reading her experiences and personal struggle to break free from the horrible life she undergoes while living with her husbands. The unusual events the author faces while being married to her husbands is melancholic and the author's will power to start living again is poignant. The story takes a sadder turn when the author's son is taken away by one of her husbands and put on the wrong path by him and his sister.
The story strikes a sad note inside you while reading, but the fact that it ends on a happier note gives it the much-needed positive vibe. Here is the story of someone who goes through many ups and downs and finally ends up seeing hope, happiness, and peace in her life.
