iPositive: Being Positive & Staying Positive by Freddie Patricio Jr. is a self-help and personal workbook all in one. There are fourteen chapters and each is one or two chapters of text followed by questions and space to answer the questions for personal reflection. This book begins with focusing on one’s self, overall, specifically stating that each person must believe in him or herself before achieving success. The following chapters focus on specific areas of one’s self, specifically one’s mind strength, and physical strength, positivism vs. negativism and transforming one’s mindset, and also how to handle it when you fall. The reflection section has a space for an action plan, a vision, and also a specific activity that is related to the chapter.

I really enjoyed this read as it is a topic that I, as well as many individuals, struggle with and this book was very user-friendly. Each chapter is short and to the point. There are Biblical verses and text included, which adds so much to the author’s text and gives it a deeper meaning. The self-reflection and note taking section is a great addition and really allows for personal reflection, making this a very in-depth self-help book that will help change one’s mindset. The charts are great and I found myself thinking about activities and moments throughout the day automatically. This is a short book that will easily fit into a purse or bag and can be pulled out in moments of feeling negative.
