A good leader brings out the best in people; they quickly earn the trust and respect of others.  If you can successfully manage people you can successfully manage a project.  A good leader knows that people matter.  If a leader fails to convey to a team member that he or she is important accomplishing anything will be difficult.  There are Five Key Steps to facing a challenge.

1.    Embrace the challenge
2.    Form the Winning Team
3.    Be the Leader
4.    Stock up on the Soft Skills
5.    Make It Happen

One of the most important things to remember is it takes “a village.”  You cannot complete on your own what you can accomplish with a team.  You must trust your team, your team must trust you and you must trust yourself.

Debi Brown is the definition of a good leader.  Following her example will assist other leaders.  She writes in an easy to read manner.  Her suggestions are logical and practical. This should be mandatory reading for all management.
