Kringle Cat Gets Lost Under The Sea is another wonderful adventure featuring Kringle the cat. Like the other books in the series, this book is written in English and Spanish. Author Carrie Foshee has created an English and Spanish book series about an adventurous cat who gets lost—often. Today he is going to Roatan, a small island off the coast of Honduras. Kringle conveys his fear of getting lost to Tanya the turtle, but this is Tanya’s home so she will introduce him to her friends and show him around the island. A cat and a turtle become friends—an unimaginable combination. Every time Tanya introduces Kringle to a fish or seahorse, they swim away. Why won’t any of the underwater animals stay and play with the cat?
The bold, colorful drawings by illustrator Edwin Castillo Ramos almost fill the page and invite readers into the adventure. His underwater illustrations are so beautiful and full of color. Author Carrie Foshee has created a very imaginative story about a cat meeting new friends on an island off Central America. Imagine a cat learning how to use a snorkel and hold his breath underwater. Now, imagine a cat partying on a sunken ship with his new friends! Besides an interesting story, Kringle Cat Gets Lost Under The Sea includes photos and descriptions of the island and all the underwater animals Kringle met so children can learn more. There is also a map at the back of the book showing Roatan and Central America. A wonderful bonus for teachers, parents, and children! Don’t be surprised if you feel like visiting the island or taking up snorkeling.
