In Liam Lion Lost At The Bloomsburg Fair by Jessica D. Adams, every child’s worst nightmare comes to life: losing their childhood stuffed toy! Eric, the story’s main character, unknowingly takes his stuffed lion, affectionately named Liam, to the Bloomsburg Fair with his family. When Liam tumbles out of Eric’s stroller and ends up on the fairgrounds, he must remember what Eric’s family taught him about being lost. This book is not only a wonderful read, but it also provides an important educational tool for parents to teach their children about what to do if they are lost. Complete with stunning illustrations by the author’s daughter, Janelle M. Adams, the book will take the reader on a journey of loss, rediscovery, and the most irreplaceable gift of all: family.

As a grown-up with an uncompromising fondness for her childhood stuffed bear, I found Liam Lion Lost At The Bloomsburg Fair by Jessica D. Adams to be an endearing tale. It did a wonderful job of balancing being an entertaining story with educational substance that can inform and help families prepare their children for emergencies. Knowing what to do in an emergency like getting lost is important, and the book conveys crucial information without being preachy or off-putting. The drawings in the story are very sweet, and do a great job of introducing the visual world of the story. Additionally, the characters serve as great role models for the young reader - polite, gentle, and sincere. Grab your favorite stuffy, get comfortable, and prepare for a journey to the Bloomsburg Fair!
