Annetta Hobson is a romance novelist from Detroit, Michigan. She is married and has 7 children. She started writing May 2012 with the help of her sister (who is also a writer) after a book store clerk suggested she write her own novel. She was signed by DonnaInk Publications in October 2012. Her debut novel "Light in the Shadow' is a romantic suspense thriller. She has five other books slated for release in 2013!

Light in the Shadow, a novel by Annetta Hobson, tells the story of Rayen, a young girl on the brink of celebrating her 15th birthday when a family tragedy occurs. The tragedy throws formerly bubbly Rayen into a tailspin, made worse by the circumstances in which she now finds herself, living in an environment rife with child abuse. As Rayen grows into adulthood, her personality, attitudes, and sense of self have been damaged to the point that she becomes a cynical, suspicious, and cold young woman. It is only when two men, one an architect, the other a police detective, enter her life, that Rayen even begins to hope for the possibility that she can change and experience everything that a relationship has to offer.
Author Annetta Hobson has obviously taken time to develop her characters, plot, and subplots for her novel, creating an interesting blend of romance, suspense, and action for readers. The reader grows along with Rayen as she seeks to solve the mystery of who murdered her parents. While at times the faulty sentence structure and grammar can be a little distracting, the story moves forward at a steady clip. The often gritty novel offers a plot that will interest many. While the reader is left with a number of unanswered questions and issues developed in this book, it is hoped that such answers will be delivered in a sequel, as Ms. Hobson has planned several more books following the release of Light in the Shadow.
