Nora and Luke have a great life. She is an attorney who specializes in divorce cases and is especially proud of her reputation for protecting vulnerable women and children. Luke is a dentist who also specializes in children and they are happily married. In the middle of the night, Luke is chilled to the bone when Nora is woken from a dream by a guttural cry that seemed to come from the depths of her soul. At first, it seemed that a bad dream was the cause of their disruption, but Nora soon came to the conclusion that it was much more than a dream. She remembers that a former client of hers, Carly, who had described her time with an energy detective called Ivy who helped her through the process of divorce. Ivy and her band of fellow detectives work with Nora to discover what she finds so troubling about her dream and why it has had such an impact on her. Light in the Shadows by Jeanne McElvaney is a gripping read and filled with insight.
What a great story. Quantum energy and the connections we all have is a fascinating subject. This is a perfect way to explore the theories and explain how they are used to uncover aspects of the past and present and how they can interact. While Nora is the main subject of the book, we also meet others who need Ivy’s help for both physical and personal reasons. The band of detectives brings a different aspect to the group and the way they team up together to help people is inspiring. Using fiction to explain these energy connections and how they can affect us all is genius. I loved Light in the Shadows by Jeanne McElvaney and will definitely be checking out other works about quantum energy.
