May is looking for a Granny (My Family & me - parents, grandparents, kids & pets interaction in the family- ages 3-8 Beginner Readers series) by Michal Or is a delightful story of May that will put a smile on the faces of readers. The story is appealing, not only to children, but also to adults who will find the theme very endearing. May's kindergarten parties have a lot of grannies coming in as guests of honor, but May will never get to see her grannies coming because they live far away. Will May be able to do something about it and get her grannies to visit the kindergarten as guests of honor on her birthday?
The story is endearing and the original theme, along with the bright and colorful pictures, make it an ideal book for read-aloud sessions in schools and libraries. It makes a good bedtime story book. The author speaks about the importance of elderly people in the lives of children and their influence on kids. This heart warming story with its illustrations will give readers another perspective on grandparents. The illustrations breathe life into the story.
The theme is relevant and the author's original way of putting it across to readers makes it very cheerful and effective. Relationships are important for a family, especially the ones with older members of the family. On the whole, it is a cute book that will leave readers with a nice feeling of love and warmth.
