Michael Riger’s Verses: Rhymes From My Heart, Vol. III: Rhythmic Visions is a poetry collection that traces Riger’s thoughts on life through rhymed verse. In Heaven Above, he considers death through the memories people leave with family, carrying love beyond a person’s final moments. Each Day connects that outlook to gratitude for ordinary hours, where greeting the morning positively gives the present its value. The movement toward looking ahead becomes explicit in The Morning Sun, where Riger describes nighttime thoughts about days gone by, while future hopes begin taking form beneath the moonlit sky. Subsequent pieces continue that outlook through friendship and the passage of time, with rhymed poetry being the platform through which Riger now addresses readers about living fully and appreciating each day.
Michael Riger’s Verses: Rhymes From My Heart, Vol. III: Rhythmic Visions is a beautiful poetry collection tracing how everyday thought develops into a life expressed through rhyme. The poet writes in rhymed verse shaped by spoken cadence, giving each poem a conversational musicality suited to his direct voice. Repeated rhyme strengthens that sound, bringing a performance quality to the printed sheet. Is Me is one of my favorites, with his skill at turning a familiar saying toward self-acceptance appearing clearly. His closing declaration that “man’s best friend is me” delivers a final statement about companionship with oneself. Day’s Flight is another favorite, where contentment comes through a canoe ride. A deer along the shore beneath an eagle overhead turns the lake into a peaceful scene. Sincere in tone, musical in form, this book speaks from the heart. Readers drawn to hopeful rhyming poetry expressed through everyday thought are in for a real treat. Very highly recommended.
