Action fantasy lovers are in for a treat this Christmas, for Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom have brought them the third installment of The Footnail Series, Merlin's Revelation. Following the events of Forging the Sword, Genesis Isherwood (Gen) has grown into the role of the Nailbearer, who together with her protector Mark Reynolds, leads a close-knit group united under extraordinary circumstances. But a new threat is brewing as a corrupt soul gets his hands on the Crown of Thorns. As Myrddin sets off to tackle the potential calamity, he finds himself robbed of his powers. He must seek help from his old friend, as a descendant of a past enemy is determined to exact revenge. Meanwhile, a member of the Citadel is on a mission to eliminate Lucilius. Can Gen and her friends prevail?

Merlin's Revelation has undoubtedly been my favorite book of the series. Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom's plotting seems much more intricate, while the characters feel even more fleshed-out than ever before. Merlin plays a key role in this story, and this is the first book in the series where he gets a significant portion of page time with a fully formed backstory that has ramifications for the present. The narrative switches between two timelines and multiple characters, which keeps the plot moving at a blistering pace. The different factions are seamlessly woven into the narrative, and as a reader, you will find yourself invested from the outset. A stellar saga for fantasy fans.

What’s the worst that could happen when power falls into the wrong hands? The world’s most powerful wizard Myrddin Emrys Wylit did not want to find out. After receiving the news of an Italian businessman Marco Brambilla owning a powerful relic, Myrddin sets off to acquire it. He finds himself facing an impenetrable fort - Marco’s residence. What exactly is the relic and what does Marco plan to do with it? Back in Canada, Myrddin’s granddaughter Genesis Isherwood is being hunted by a company because of the secrets she possesses about its activities. Will Gen - who is a nail bearer - and her team of supernatural beings survive what is coming their way? On the other hand, Garth Armstrong - a member of Citadel (an organization committed to fighting evil) – believes one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse is roaming the world. Garth goes hunting for the horseman to prevent Armageddon. Who is the horseman and will he find him? Find out more in Akorede Adekoya’s and Howard Haugom’s Merlin’s Revelation: Footnail Book 3.

Akorede Adekoya’s and Howard Haugom’s Merlin’s Revelation is just what you should be looking for if you relish a supernatural novel with a touch of adventure, mystery, suspense, thrills, and action. Adekoya and Haugom build an intriguing plot for this page-turner, featuring a cast of amazing role players. They vary the narration by switching between designated characters while maintaining a beautiful flow. The authors bring the scenes to life with vivid depictions. They develop the cast by exploring their personalities, feelings, and skills. This made it easy for me to experience their emotions, connect, and empathize with them. Just like Myrddin, Garth is an intelligent, crafty, stubborn, and ambitious protagonist who will go up against all the odds to get what he wants. This is the latest installment in the Footnail series. I recommend that you read the previous books to fully appreciate this exciting tale.

Merlin's Revelation: Footnail Book 3 by Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom is an intriguing novel with thrills and action. Genesis Isherwood is the current bearer of the nails used in the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. With the help of a group of friends and Myrddin, the greatest wizard ever to live, who also happens to be her grandfather, Gen has managed to keep the powerful relics out of the wrong hands. But now, a threat unlike any they have faced in the past is fast approaching. When Myrddin is away from town, pursuing the crown of thorns worn by Jesus Christ, evil strikes, rendering him powerless. This provides the perfect opportunity for a vengeful soul wandering the streets, seeking to exact vengeance on him. Back at home, his granddaughter and her friends are also facing a potential uprising and an enemy who will stop at nothing to strip them of their dignity, if not their lives.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Merlin's Revelation. I even forgot it was a work of fiction at times because the descriptions were vivid and real. My favorite parts were those that focused on the main characters' relationships. I couldn't wait to see how Lucilius, who used to be one of the accursed beings, would interact with Gen, who has nothing but love and kindness for everyone. If you enjoy slow-burning romances, there's something here for you. You'll find yourself wishing that the endearing moments between Lucilius and Josephine would blossom into something lovely. There are also numerous intriguing conflicts to watch and fast-paced action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If good is to triumph over evil, the heroes must focus on more than just hurling lethal magical fireballs and blows, as that is the only way they can access the floodgates of divine revelation. Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom have done it again. This is an excellent work that will stay with me for a long time.

Over the years, many had died for the nails. A battle between good and evil was raging way before Gen was born. Despite constant struggles, burdens, and life-threatening situations, Gen and the team managed to endure and they have the sword in their possession. Now they cannot be easily defeated and things seem to be looking up for them. Despite the current peaceful times, Gen could not help but feel restless. She couldn’t say why, but deep down, she sensed something approaching; something they needed to be ready for. What trouble could be brewing on the horizon? Do they have the courage to face it? Read book three of the Footnail series: Merlin's Revelation by Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom to find out.

Exciting, fast-paced, and unexpected, Merlin’s Revelation takes readers on a rollercoaster ride of adventure and suspense as it delves into the world of fantasy. I admire Gen for trusting her instincts. Despite the peace, she did not let her guard down and even warned Mark of the danger. She had been through so much and it taught her to trust her instincts during uncertain times. Myrddin Emrys Wylit was the greatest wizard to ever live but there will come a moment when he will find himself powerless. He will need help, but who will come to help him? Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom weaved an engrossing plot with brilliant characters that grow from adversity and are exquisitely portrayed. I read this excellent story with great anticipation and look forward to the fourth book. Merlin’s Revelation took me on a journey I will never forget and I can’t wait for more from the Footnail series.

Merlin's Revelation: Footnail Book 3 by Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom tells the story of Gen, the keeper of one of the nails that was used to crucify Jesus. The nail awakened powers in her, as well as seeing visions, and she must protect the nail at all costs. If the nails were ever reunited, they could do untold damage to the world. But as she goes up against her biggest enemy yet, Gen finds that she may not have enough power to win this battle. Gen and her team will need to work together to overcome the evil that they face.

Akorede Adekoya and Howard Haugom have produced a fascinating book with Merlin's Revelation. I haven't read the first two books in the series, but there was enough information here to follow the plot. The idea of the nails from the crucifixion having power is an intriguing one and is not something that I have encountered before. The authors mix Bible stories with fantasy elements to create a fast-paced story with plenty of twists and turns. I enjoyed reading about Gen's journey as she tries to keep the nail safe. She is pulled into this strange world, far removed from her ordinary life, but by this stage, she is battle weary. The characters were well-developed and I would read more books in the series. I do think that fantasy fans and fans of Christian stories would enjoy this book. I would recommend it.
