Monstrosity: Apartment Complex on Deadman Lane (Episodes 13–16) by KJ Walt throws Yoska Draper straight back into the madness of running a building that never gives him a moment’s peace. Paranormal trouble is rising fast, and the stairwell ghosts are causing havoc again, this time dragging a rocker client into a haunting that explodes into violence. Ryder is dealing with an old enemy who won’t stay buried, devil monkeys are attacking residents, and traffickers are circling the area, pulling the whole misfit family into danger. Magic goes wrong more than once, baby Arie disappears during a spell, and even the beak dragons turn out to be more complicated than anyone expected. With darkness swirling through the building and a fae threat growing stronger, Yoska finds himself facing problems from every direction as he tries to keep his chaotic home from falling apart.
Monstrosity by KJ Walt keeps the same loud, brash, hilarious energy as the earlier episodes, with even more chaos thrown into the mix. The pacing is rapid-fire, each episode packed with action, paranormal trouble, and the kind of drama that only this misfit family can attract. The humor is constant, even in the darker moments, and the story never slows down as one problem rolls straight into the next. The characters remain the driving force, every one of them vivid, unpredictable, and bringing their own brand of madness to the narrative, whether it’s stairwell ghosts, devil monkeys, or magic misfiring in ways nobody expects. The episodic format works perfectly here, each installment feeling like a TV episode that gives you just enough to satisfy you before throwing you into the next round of trouble. It’s gritty, funny, chaotic, and full of heart, with the found-family dynamic growing stronger as the danger escalates. If you enjoy stories where the normal and the supernatural collide in the most outrageous ways, this set of episodes delivers exactly that and keeps the momentum of the series going without missing a beat.
