Dingos, koalas and emus, oh my! How will we ever be able to learn what the crazy creatures that are unique to Australia look like? Never fear, Mamma Macs is here to help. Mick Mac Adoo's Australian Zoo by Mamma Macs is a children’s picture book based on the theme of Old McDonald’s farm, but uses Australian animals instead of farm animals to form its verses. The homemade book constructed by Mamma Macs for her children is a way to share and communicate details of the different animals that are found in Australia. Included in the verses are the obvious ones of kangaroos, koalas and crocodiles, but it also includes emus, kookaburras and quokkas too. Each new character is illustrated and brightly colored in order to join the words with images, making it easier to understand what each animal looks like. How many Australian animals can you name? How many will you be able to remember after reading Mamma Macs’ book?

Mamma Macs has created a delightful set of homemade children’s picture books of which there is a growing list included in the back of her book. The colorful illustrations and catchy Old MacDonald theme makes it an excellent tool for teaching young children about the special animals which are a part of Australia’s wildlife. Educational, colorful and fun, Mick Mac Adoo's Australian Zoo will have you and your child grinning from ear to ear as you discover some of the unique wildlife and perhaps even sing along using Old McDonald as your tune.
