Join an adorable dog and a cute cat for a wholesome adventure tale with Monkey and Bug's Night at the Corn Stand Jam, written by Scott Smallwood and featuring some beautiful artwork by Hannah Tebbe. Monkey the dog has been recently adopted by a loving family. However, Monkey still misses his sisters, with whom he used to play. Soon, he reveals his sadness to his new friend, Bug, a cat. Bug invites Monkey for a trip to the park to meet his friends. One by one, Bug introduces Monkey to his friends, who ride bicycles and skateboards, play music, and even do yoga. At last, Monkey and Bug meet Jimmy, who tells Monkey of the Corn Stand Jam, a concert to spread happiness through music and help others in their time of need.
Scott Smallwood's award-winning children's picture book gently reminds readers that everyone is unique in their own way and that it's okay to feel sad from time to time. Monkey and Bug's Night at the Corn Stand Jam is a heartfelt celebration of friendship and hope. With animals as main characters, Smallwood has crafted an engaging tale that tugs at your heartstrings and puts a smile on your face. Illustrator Hannah Tebbe knocks it out of the park with her mesmerizing drawings that splash color onto the pages and make the characters come to life. I especially enjoyed her portrayal of Bug, the cat. Overall, this is a wonderfully entertaining children's picture book with an important message that will resonate with kids and adults alike. Highly recommended.
