In Murder Beyond The Precipice by Penny Goetjen, Elizabeth decides to leave her interior design business in Connecticut and take a long weekend trip home to the Maine coast, an area she has not been back to since her grandmother’s death. Elizabeth never expected the adventure into which she finds herself suddenly thrust. Lucretia Livingston is the owner of the inn and newly married to a man who wants complete control of the remodeling and reopening that is about to take place. Elizabeth is there to attend the wedding of an old school friend and visit with another friend, but neither of these events happen. Instead, Elizabeth find herself mixed up in murder, secrets, disappearances, suspicious characters and much more!
Murder Beyond The Precipice has more than one murder going on at the same time and enough twists and turns to keep the story moving at a fast and furious pace. I believe that all murder mystery suspense fans will find it hard to put this book down. The twists and turns and intrigue never stop and Elizabeth manages to get herself into the middle of everything before the bad guys are found and the good guys are cleared. To say more will ruin the story so you must read it for yourself to find out the answers to this gripping whodunit mystery. Penny Goetjen has left some unanswered questions and I can only hope that there is a book two in the making. Murder Beyond the Precipice is a good fit in its genre and I believe no one will be disappointed after reading it. A must-read for murder mystery fans.
