My Dad's On A Business Trip...Again! is a heart-wrenching book by author Kori Brooke Church. This book deals with the disappointments and sorrow created by a father who is always out of town because of work. This details the emotional pain that a child suffers while a parent is working away from their family on a consistent basis. There are things that only a father can fulfill or do with a child, and this book helps to outline what is missing when a father is away from their family while working. While the kids are able to stay in contact with their father through phone, internet or cards, it still isn't the same as when he is home with them and can tuck them into bed, or read a bedtime story to them.
This book is illustrated by Kial Brittany Church and Kori Brooke Church. They do an outstanding job in drawing their characters and illustrated points of the book. While the kids do enjoy the time when their father is with them at home, they still remain sad because they know that in a few days he will be gone again on another business trip. There is nothing more important than a parent's love and how to best instill within their children the values they need. This book helps one to understand that having the best job or making lots more money will never replace the presence of a child's parents with them on a daily basis. This would be a great book to share with parents that work away from their children.
