Outside The Lines: Page Terrors by Wes Mogenson is a children’s fantasy story. Karlie can’t decide what birthday present to get Connor, her little brother. He’s only 7, but so hard to buy for! Heading to a book sale, she finds herself pulled inexplicably toward a certain stall where she finds the perfect gift – a coloring book full of monsters – but with it, she gets a warning from a strange woman. Shrugging it off, she gives the book to Connor, and he loves it. But something strange is happening. Connor’s personality is changing, and the monsters from the book are appearing all over the town. Karlie needs to stop the evil once and for all, but how will they do it? She and her best friend, Ann, must save Connor, and the only way to do it is to stop the book and destroy the monsters.
Outside The Lines by Wes Mogenson is the second book in the Page Terrors series. This is a wonderfully well-written story with plenty of action and a great plot. It’s written in clear language, perfectly suited to its audience, and is a fantasy story that will stay with the kids for a long time to come. The characters are great, well developed into real people with characteristics that fit their ages. It’s a bit scary for very young kids, although it is a fantasy story, but kids usually love a little scare now and then. However, it’s a fun story that most kids will relate to and enjoy – what 7-year-old boy doesn’t love monsters? Ideal for kids of all ages and is highly recommended reading.
