Posie Pixie and the Christmas Tree (Book 5, Whimsy Wood Series) is a cute children’s story by Sarah Hill. Posie Pixie was in her copper kettle house when Mr. and Mrs. Dusty and their dormice family came along, singing festive songs. She invited them in for hot holly juice and snowberry pies. While talking, Mr. Dusty mentioned that he had got his Christmas tree and promised Posie to help her get one at The Woodland Store since she had forgotten. Mr. Dusty and his kids wanted to nibble off a small branch for her at the store, but the pixie insisted on a large one to fit inside her home. Unfortunately, it was too large for her to carry and Mr. Dusty had to find his kids. Posie wondered how she was going to get the tree home until Florence Fox had an idea, but would it work?
This is Sarah Hill’s fifth book from the Whimsy Wood Series. The illustrations in Posie and the Christmas Tree nicely depict the characters and setting. It was interesting to see how Mr. Dusty acquired the Christmas trees. The book includes a map that children will enjoy completing as they figure out the questions pertaining to the story. They will also like Posie’s free colouring-in sheets and eBook that Sarah Hill has made available for download on her website. The story is very short and it is suitable for reading at school libraries and in homes. Readers can follow Posie's adventures in the other Whimsy Wood Books.
