In the midst of rebuilding the Lands of Daranor after the horrific battle with the Death Lord and his sorceress sister, Tarthur becomes involved in a new quest to resurrect his friend, the wizard Yan. The banishment of Darhyn did not mark the end of mysterious happenings in the country. Tarthur, his advisers, and friends set out in Prophecy Quest by Bill Pottle to uncover the truth of the One who is to enter the Eternal Vale and receive the Power of Air. Evil forces are still at work, though, and the members of the group must defend themselves at every turn as they are pursued by undead Skull Knights and an Elf assassin under the control of an evil wizard. Using all their knowledge, magical skill, and physical strength, the group reaches the Vale, retrieves the Air Feather, and returns to the King to celebrate their success. Once in the city, they have a chance to rejoice but the mood does not last long as new information is shared, revealing a worse threat to the Lands of Daranor.

Bill Pottle has masterfully continued the tale of Tarthur and his family and friends in Prophecy Quest. The excitement does not stop as new challenges present themselves and old enemies gather strength to fight again. With extremely realistic characterizations, Tarthur, Derlin, and their wives and children have grown in their responsibilities and relationships and continue to strive for the peace and prosperity of their homelands. They face the past with reverence and move into the future with bravery as they search for the Power of the Air to complete the collection of the four elements that provide all the magical power that may be the only hope to save the Lands of Daranor.
