Ramble Along the Waiting Path is a young adult paranormal tale written by Danny S. Allen. Coaxed by his mother, eighteen-year-old Benjamin Ramble's visit to his grandmother in North Carolina turns sour when a shocking highway accident leaves him dead and stuck in purgatory. Soon after his arrival, Ben meets Tag, a travel assistant guide for wanderers like Ben who haven't crossed over to the other side yet. As Ben and Tag embark on their journey, alongside their friend Jack, they encounter Slate, leader of the defiants who is brainwashing an army of guides like Tag into following his plans for world domination. After barely escaping his clutches, Ben must now form a powerful alliance of his own to stop Slate and his defiant army. Along the way, he meets an old family member.

A coming-of-age fantasy tale set in the afterlife, Ramble Along the Way is an engaging novel set to entertain lovers of the young adult genre. Author Danny S. Allen builds an immersive world where wanderers must work in tandem with their assigned travel guides to cross over to the other side in exchange for helping their companions gain a chance at life on earth. The premise feels fresh, unique, and intriguing, and Allen crafts an absorbing tale on top of that. The narrative primarily focuses on Ben, the main protagonist who has a likable personality you find easy to root for. Secondary characters are mainly used to drive the plot forward. Recommended to young adults who love to read fantasy.
