Resist by M. Ainihi is yet another enthralling installment of the Blood Inheritance series. Hurt and alone, Amanda traverses the chaos realm trying to discern its secrets. Along the way, she tries to blend in with the inhabitants of the place, ending up meeting the daughters of the celestial - Sophia, Akila, and Mia - who advise her to unite the seven half-bloods to stand a chance in the upcoming battle with the celestial. In the human realm, Emily and Kiami continue their journey to search for the last half-blood, resulting in Kiami reuniting with her guardian, which evokes conflicting feelings inside her. Will Amanda and her friends be able to withstand the powers of the celestial? What will it cost for them to do so?

The most impressive aspect of M. Ainihi's Resist is its phenomenal worldbuilding. Ainihi has created a sprawling yet believable fantasy universe full of magical realms, creatures, and super-powered characters that draw you in from the get-go and keeps you immersed throughout the pages. The first three-quarters of the book has our main heroes embarking on their own journey, with Amanda in the chaos realm and Emily and Kiami in the human realm. But once the three reunite in the last quarter, it's a fast-paced, action-packed ride until the end. Amanda, Kiami, and Emily each have very distinct personalities, which makes their relationship dynamic all the more compelling to read. Overall, I very much enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy stories on an epic scale.

Resist is the fourth novel in the Blood Inheritance series by M. Ainihi and is an epic young adult fantasy. The fate of Sumir is hanging by a thread and it seems like Amanda, Kiami, and Emily are the ones to protect it. Amanda is lost after she finds out the reason why she and the rest of the half-bloods were created. Feeling alone and unable to connect, Amanda vows to uncover all the secrets held in the Chaos realm before she returns to her friends. However, things aren’t going so well for Kiami and Emily either. They need to find the final half-blood person and they need to do it fast as a celestial is coming for them. Before they know it, Emily, Kiami, and Amanda have to rally all of the half-bloods to fight against the celestial to protect Sumir.

Action-packed and paced to perfection, the story had me hooked from the moment it began. I loved the point of view changes and how each of the girls gets a chance to share their burdens with the reader. I loved Kiami’s attitude and her go-getter demeanor as well as the soft yet fierce Emily, while Amanda’s development is just phenomenal. She picks herself up and gives herself time to put together all her broken pieces and emerge stronger than before. Bloise and his attitude is the wake-up call these girls need. Resist delivered everything I expected and more. It has magic, smart protagonists, a fantastic story, and even better execution. There was never a lull in the action, and the story runs at a pace that is fun and thrilling. The overall feel of the story is great; M. Ainihi did a great job with this installment!

Resist is a young adult fantasy by M. Ainihi. Amanda finds out that she and her half-blood friends were created and gifted as gems to the world. When all the gems are together, they give off a unique energy that will bring the celestial to them. Amanda wants to forget the choices she made after her encounter with a celestial. Amanda was disfigured and ashamed and went to the Chaos realm to uncover secrets before she returned to her friends. The celestial stole from her, and if his evil is not destroyed, everything will be destroyed. The choices Amanda makes will keep her and her friends safe from the celestial. Emily, Kiami, and the others are looking for the last half-blood. Once the last half-blood is found, the celestial will come for them.

Resist is a work of fantasy with a fascinating plot and superb character development. The story is captivating and interesting and M. Ainihi had my attention from the start with this fantasy world and its unique characters. The events are descriptive and no detail is spared. I was immersed in the action and events which took place. Easy to read, fast-paced, and full of action, the storyline never allowed a dull moment as one chapter flowed into the next. The characters develop throughout this book, which is beautifully written. Delivering more than I expected, I recommend it to fantasy fans as an enjoyable read.
