Roman and Niko: Everyday Heroes by DJ Stutz is a remarkable children's picture book. It follows Roman, his dog Harley, and his little brother Niko as they make a difference in their home and community and become superheroes. Roman wants to be a real superhero, one that makes a difference. He even inspires his little brother to want to be like him. Thus, Roman decides to help Niko learn how to be a superhero. Shortly after, Roman and Niko take any chance that comes their way to help their parents around the house because they believe that is what heroes do. Feeling proud and like real superheroes, they extend their help to their neighbors, teachers, classmates, and their friends, making their world a better place.
Roman and Niko: Everyday Heroes by DJ Stutz is an extremely lovely children's book. Of all the superhero books for children out there, I would pick this one to gift to my nieces and nephews. It introduces kids to what makes someone a hero and what heroes do so they can also become real superheroes. Roman's and Niko's acts of kindness inspire kids to help those in need and also show how they can feel strong and brave while doing it and that it's always worth it. The charming illustrations by Nadiia Kolpak show young readers great ways to act as an everyday hero at home, at school, or in the community, make a difference, and make the world a better place for everyone. This book celebrates big dreams, teamwork, determination, kindness, and the joy of doing good without expecting anything in return.
