Author Julie Milner, a Certified Instructor for Dying Consciously, a trasnpersonal psychotherapist, a Reiki master, and a Reiki Phowa Practitioner, writes of how she used her expertise in helping her mother cross the threshold from living to passing on in a serene and peaceful manner. The author tells how her spiritual awareness regarding the death and dying process began with her father's transition "into the Light" as he shared visits with relatives "on the other side." She read books such as Donald Walsch's "Home With God: In a Life that Never Ends" and shared passages with her mother and slowly got her mother to stop struggling with depression, troubling dreams about the past, physical pain and fears of going to purgatory. The author tells of bringing in hospice help for her mother, so she was not alone and experiencing fear as they brought her love, compassion, acceptance and understanding. Author Milne used Reiki energy to enhance her mother's natural ability to heal herself physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually and used prayers and special oils to make her mother's room serene and her last days peaceful.

"Sacred Transitions: Taking a More Conscious Role with Dying" is a wonderful, well-written book that will leave the reader with a determination to make the last hours and days of loved ones truly peaceful. Author Julie Milne shares highly practical knowledge with the reader on how to make the dying person feel compassion and forgiveness, making their end-of-life positive. She gives very down-to-earth suggestions on dealing with the Alzheimer's patient who may be abusive verbally and so on. She tells of music, oils and creating an energy vortex in the dying person's room. With a impressive bibliography and index, "Scared Transitions" is a book that readers will want to use and then share with others.
