Saving Grace by Tobin Michael opens an exciting drama in the Zach Corrigan Series, a gripping story of former U.S. Marshal, Zach Corrigan, who has scores to settle with a Russian gang lord. But with a kidnapped girl that has to be found and saved, the game gets even more dangerous, taking unexpected twists that reveal the very core of the compelling characters and build the tension in readers. Can saving Grace become Zach’s path to his own redemption, his own “saving grace” or will it thrust him out on the highway of more complicated problems? That’s for the reader to find out!
Tobin Michael’s work will surprise readers who haven’t read about him, because it is suffused with genius and imagination, and will undoubtedly be a precious find for lovers of general thrillers. The author has the skill for building conflict at every level of the story, without losing focus of the main plot lines. The swift change from the first person POV to the third is accomplished with grace, and this style allows readers to get into the heart of the consciousness of the characters. Saving Grace scores great merit when it comes to characterization, and readers will love to watch the protagonists as they evolve through conflict. The author leads readers into the minds and psychology of his characters without allowing them to stray a bit from his exciting tale. Sometimes the descriptions are terrific, somewhat quirky. The kidnapped girl, for instance, doesn’t like the looks of the small man with funny trousers and a face like a rat.
This one is a fun, fast read, entertaining in a dangerous kind of way. The author knows how to toy with the emotions of his readers and this book will drive you to near tears, and when they are ready to flow, you’ll find yourself smiling. An exciting and well-written story.
