Seizing Fate by Tracey Kyler is a compelling love story set against an epic fantasy backdrop that had me obsessed from the very first chapter. Arik and Cora each have their burdens. Cora is guarded and has a heavy sense of grief for everything she has lost. Her journey is not an easy one, but Kyler crafts an immersive narrative of rediscovery, trust, and resilience in the face of unimaginable trials. On the other side, Arik's dark lineage haunts him. His role as a protector and as a member of the Gargoyle Order goes against everything he was created for. The sacrifice he was willing to make means love is as dangerous as any other threat. I enjoyed the deep, emotional subtexts that explored healing and sacrifice. The author has created an all-consuming plot and crafted two amazing characters who earned their redemption through their connection. The story crackles with emotional intensity and is sure to satisfy fans of romantic tension with the bonus of personal curses and conflicts. Overall, an outstanding work!
