Shadows Forsaken by Amanda Berthault is the third installment in The Shadows Trilogy. Shadow McKinley has overcome many demons, and he is finally living his dream. He has a music career that is getting back on track, a beautiful wife Nicoline who loves him unconditionally, and an amazing adopted daughter Isabella, who saved his life and with whom he shares an unbreakable bond. Everything comes crashing down when a ghost from his past reappears with diabolical intentions. Shadow and Isabella are kidnapped, and the race against time to find them begins. Because of Shadow's past, people seem to believe he is running away once again. The police release misleading information about the case, and his fans start to turn against him. Shadow's best friend Tommy is hospitalized and cannot help him. Nicoline is the only hope left, and she decides to take matters into her own hands. She joins forces with Shadow's skeptical band members, and they embark on a mission to save her husband and daughter. Will they turn the tide in Shadow's favor and save the day?

The first thing that came to mind as I read Shadows Forsaken was that this story needed to be made into a movie. I cannot stop thinking about Shadow. He is a humble, soft-hearted man who loved his family. I appreciated the way he cared for Isabella before, during, and after the kidnapping and the way he constantly thought about his wife. Nicoline trusted Shadow when everyone around her and even his computer gave her reasons to doubt him. Isabella was the bravest of them all. Her calm and attentive demeanor throughout the ordeal was remarkable. Every chapter had me on the edge of my seat, and I enjoyed the social media messages because they added an original touch. Amanda Berthault has created a suspenseful and intriguing story that you should read.
