Sham Subterranean and the Party Tea, written by Michelle Path, is a creative children's book that follows a young boy named Jake. One day, Jake falls through a puddle into Subterranea, and meets Sham. Sham invites Jake to a party tea (not a tea party). The two ride on a scuttlebug, and had their party tea at a table floating on a magic carpet. They eat and drink, and then, once they're done, they dance to the music of a orchidstra (not an orchestra). Jake says he needs to go home, but once he's there, he notices the puddle has disappeared. Did Subterranea ever really exist in the first place?

I really enjoyed reading Sham Subterranean and the Party Tea by Michelle Path. The book is very well written in a fun way that children will enjoy. I liked the way Sham talked, because he would say something, and then say it again with the words in a different order. The illustrations, by Hannah Purkiss, are very well drawn and depict each scene vividly. The pictures are also very colorful and children will like the way they look. I liked how sometimes the writing was at a slight angle. Children will want to read this book again and again. The book has many funny parts that will make the reader laugh out loud. The book was well thought out, and very creative. I would definitely recommend this to all young readers.
