Stories Grandmother Told: The Baby Bird Story Collection by Barbara Lamping is an adorable storybook for children that teaches them good concepts. Baby Bird is curious to know about things and she asks her Grandma as her parents are busy. The question 'why' always burned inside her. One day when Baby Bird woke, she heard the birds singing together and it sounded beautiful. They all left to search for their food once the sun came up. Grandma then tells Baby Bird a beautiful story that explained to her the basic concept of being thankful to the Maker for all that He has given us, and also how to change an enemy into a friend through acts of kindness.
The concept is beautiful in all the stories and instills good spiritual and moral values in young readers. The illustrations are bright and charming and they convey the author's thoughts and ideas effectively. It's a good bedtime storybook and can be used for interactive sessions in classrooms and school libraries to teach children the importance of being kind, and also being grateful to the Maker who has given us everything.
The Baby Bird Story Collection is worth owning in one's personal collection as the messages and concepts conveyed through the stories are good for children to have a positive outlook. The book is for all those kids who look at the world in wonder and keep asking the question 'why' to their parents and educators. All the stories of Baby Bird and Grandma Bird in this book will capture the hearts of young readers.
