A group of children is given a mysterious mission before being transported back home in the exciting children's adventure book, Surviving Desert View by Karl Steam. The odd nature app on Katie's phone has taken Josh, Tyler, Katie, and Melisa to another location on a second mission. The kids are surprised to discover that the application on Katie's new phone can take them on missions without anyone touching the app's button. Now, they have been taken from Mrs. Emmons' class during graduation practice to the scorching hot desert. While they are searching for the mission's required photograph, they must also take care of themselves by finding water, preventing heat stroke, and protecting each other from scorpions, tarantulas, snakes, and the many other dangers found in the desert. With the hot sun beating down on them and their path continually being blocked, can the group find a way out of the desert? Will they survive this scorching mission?
