Tailing Grace, the fifth book in Annette G. Anders’ Colors of Happiness series, introduces readers to the vibrant world of Grace Petrucci, a fiercely independent woman who runs a flight school and air charter business on Martha’s Vineyard. Grace is a grounded character—both literally and figuratively—who is unapologetic about her choices. When her cousin Landon invites her to his surprise Las Vegas wedding, she unexpectedly reconnects with Ashton, a family acquaintance from her past. Ashton, now a life coach, is a man whose success has been shaped by personal growth, and his reappearance in Grace’s life is filled with tension that keeps readers turning the pages.

The novel's strength lies in Annette G. Anders’ ability to write witty, authentic dialogue and the natural, engaging development of Grace and Ashton’s relationship. The story explores themes of family, trust, and the vulnerability of allowing someone from your past into your life. Grace’s hesitation to embrace love mirrors Ashton’s personal journey, and their interplay is relatable and deeply engaging, getting readers invested in their story and caring about both characters. Tailing Grace is a delightful mix of humor, romance, and introspection. Readers will find themselves rooting for Grace and Ashton, two likable characters, as they navigate their past and present, making this a heartfelt story of love and self-discovery. The novel is filled with charm, laughter, romantic tension, and pop culture, making it an enjoyable read for fans of contemporary romance. You’ll need to read it to learn if what happens in Vegas truly stays in Vegas.

Tailing Grace by Annette G. Anders is an engaging romance novel and the fifth book in the Colors of Happiness series. Grace Petrucci, a skeptic of love and marriage, prefers the solitude of flying her Cessna. But when she runs into Ashton Waterman, a life coach and former nerd from her past, at a Las Vegas wedding, their lives take an unexpected turn. Ashton, still enamored with Grace, sees this as his chance to rekindle what they once had. This against-all-odds romance explores how one night in Vegas changes everything for the two of them. Anders captures the essence of rekindled love with a huge amount of emotion and realistic dialogue, making the characters’ journeys feel authentic and heartfelt from the very first page of this tale.

The ‘one night in Vegas’ premise is turned on its head in some innovative and amusing ways in this original take on romance. Annette G. Anders’s use of witty and engaging dynamics adds a playful energy to the story, balancing the emotional intensity with lighthearted moments as Grace and Ashton clash over their past differences. It’s the kind of novel you read with a wry smile as you can see where Grace’s independent, guarded nature is going to lead her when she comes up against Ashton’s methodical approach to love, and this dynamic tension drives the narrative forward naturally without ever feeling corny or forced. The vivid setting serves as a metaphor for the spontaneity and chance that’s so needed in Grace’s safe little life, enriching the plot’s themes of fate, risk, and love’s unpredictability with great effect. Overall, Tailing Grace is a must-read for fans of lively romances with lovable and amusing characters, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Tailing Grace by Annette G. Anders is the fifth book in the Colors of Happiness series. It follows Grace, an enthusiastic pilot and business owner, and Ashton, a successful and famous life coach, as they meet again and fall in love. Ashton has been in love with Grace since the first time they met when they were still teenagers. When they are both invited to witness Grace’s cousin’s wedding, they meet again and the sparks between them are inevitable. When they do a commitment ceremony as a favor to Tracy, Landon’s soon-to-be bride, it sets in motion a series of events that will ultimately decide if, after all these years, Ashton can convince Grace they were always meant to be. Will Grace be able to overcome her fear of commitment or will a perfect relationship never even make it further than a special weekend in Las Vegas?

Annette G. Anders has again outdone herself with Tailing Grace. This is the second book I have read in the series, and I have to say that so far it's my favorite. What I love most about the Colors of Happiness series is that there is no need to read the other books to be able to follow the storyline, but I would however highly recommend it to have a better background of the characters. The previous novel I read helped me understand the characters in Tailing Grace better. Annette writes relatable characters. You will understand the reasoning behind their decisions and you will root for them to have a happy ending. Grace had an amazing character development, which was showcased with each chapter, and Ashton is the type of man any woman would love to bring home. If you are a romance novel lover and hope for happy endings, this is just the book for you. I can’t wait to meet the characters in Annette’s next book.
