Tea Cleanse for Weight Loss by Nikki Sangster is an informative book that includes tea types, a cleansing plan, and helpful recipes. The book begins with the history of coffee and tea, then explains the pros and cons of coffee and tea consumption. From there, the reader is provided with an overview of teas: white, green, rooibos, black and more, including herbal teas and their benefits. A 14-Day Tea Cleanse Plan is also provided, and the author explains why the plan is helpful to the body and why detoxing is beneficial overall. The book concludes with 15 different recipes for cleansing — ginger lemon honey tea, smoothies, additives to water, and herbal teas.
As a tea drinker, I was enthusiastic to read Tea Cleanse for Weight Loss and learned much from it. What I truly enjoyed was that the book, while of course including a tea cleansing plan, was so much more than that. There are many recipes to try, a history of coffee and tea, the pros and cons of tea drinking and coffee drinking, and instructions on how to include tea cleansing as a lifestyle. Many of my favorite teas were discussed by author Nikki Sangster, including mint tea and ginger tea. I am especially looking forward to the Morning Detox Tea of ginger, cayenne, honey, turmeric, cinnamon, and lemon. The book is highly recommended to those who want to learn about tea, would like to explore different recipes, or are looking to cleanse and detox through a tea regime.
